IGITEGO’s Approach to Digital Inclusion and Green Transition in Adult Education: Digi-Breaker+

At IGITEGO, we are excited to be part of the Digi-Breaker+ European project, which aims to support the green and digital transitions in adult education and professional guidance. Funded by the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships Programme, this project aligns with the European Pillar of Social Rights, ensuring that everyone has the right to receive personalized support to enhance their employability, and the European Climate Pact, which emphasizes the importance of green skills for boosting employment and self-employment opportunities.

Aligned with the goals of the 2021 Porto Declaration, Digi-Breaker+ focuses on putting education and skills at the center of the green and digital transitions, helping adults and their communities to transform these challenges into new opportunities for personal and professional development. The project offers a multimedia course that enhances access to orientation and training services for adults. It provides flexible didactic materials, addressing the need for re-skilling and up-skilling workers to navigate the market transformations occurring during the transition towards a climate-neutral economy.

As part of this project, we are committed to fostering a community-based approach to the development of innovative and inclusive adult education programs. The aim is to strengthen networking between adult learners, educators, and a wide range of social actors, driving active citizenship and helping to reduce the risk of social exclusion.

Objectives

Through a global, transnational approach to digital career orientation, Digi-Breaker+ aims to:

Support unemployed adults, especially those with limited qualifications, by providing them with motivational courses and digital tools that help improve their career management and awareness of new learning and career opportunities.
Enhance the skills of professional orientation and adult education operators by providing them with innovative digital solutions, enriching their methods to better assist adults seeking employment.

Target Groups

Direct: Professional orientation and adult education operators.
Indirect: Adults and youth seeking employment and career development.

Activities

Good Practice Search: Collection and analysis of 30 case studies featuring the application of digital tools in career guidance.
Bridge the Gap: Propose and develop digital tools for adult education to enhance employment opportunities and provide better access to technology.
CDAP (Community Development Action Plan): Establish a transnational network of adult orientation services.
Training and Workshops: Introduce operators, consultants, and local learning centers to the DIGI-BREAKER approach.
Courses: Integrating practical lab activities to help participants apply what they’ve learned in real-world job search scenarios.
Strategic Action Plan: Develop a guidebook with policy recommendations for authorities and institutions in participating countries.

Expected Results

Trained Operators: Employment and adult education center operators will acquire and transfer new technical and digital skills.
Attractive Career Orientation Courses: Courses tailored to the specific needs of adult students will enhance digital competencies.
Increased Digital Skills: Adult learners will gain greater digital literacy, boosting their employment opportunities.
